Emerging Leaders program

A program designed for built environment professionals aspiring for leadership roles in their specific function by enhancing their key competencies. It also opens the path for attaining the chartered membership of RICS (MRICS) after successful completion of the program, which greatly improves employability and career progression.

This one year program is designed using the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) guide. APC ensures that those applying for RICS membership are competent to practice and meet the high standards of professionalism required by RICS. There is a wide range of pathways available to qualify as an RICS member covering many different areas of practice.

The six pathways in which we offer this program are:

  1. Quantity Surveying
  2. Construction Project Management
  3. Real Estate Development and Management
  4. Corporate Real Estate and Facilities Management
  5. Built Infrastructure
  6. Property Finance and Investment/Valuations

MODE

This program consists of 450 study hours that include class contact hours (lectures, presentations, and tutorials), self-study, assessment; case studies, etc. and covers certain core, mandatory and optional competencies of the RICS pathway.
 
The program is delivered through a mix of full time, part time and distance learning modules.
Every quarter, an intensive face-to-face module of 50 hours each (as 6-day residential programs) will be conducted (i.e. 4 modules x 50 hours each), thereby providing 200 hours of face-to-face contact. Remaining study hours will be completed using self-study, assessment, case studies, etc.  

ELIGIBILITY

Full-time employees with minimum 4 years relevant professional experience.

HOW DOES IT WORK

There are three key stages of this program:
Stage 1: Selection
  • Candidates will be shortlisted by the company
  • RICS will review & screen applications
  • Selected applicants will  be recommended to RICS under Adaptation Route to membership
  • Such candidates will be admitted to the Emerging Leaders program
Stage 2: Assessment & award
  • After successful completion of Module III, candidates will be asked to submit a 3000 word critical analysis
  • After successful completion of Module IV, candidates will receive a certificate of completion of Emerging Leaders program from RICS 
Stage 3: RICS Adaptation Route
  • Candidates who receive the certificate of completion of Emerging Leaders program will be invited to APC interview
  • Candidates who pass this interview will  be awarded chartered membership of RICS and will need to pay membership fee.
  • Candidates who do not pass will get a referral with areas of concern and remedial actions.
