Placed in Sales at Mahindra Lifespace Developers

See how a professional tennis player scored high in the real estate industry with a specialized MBA from RICS SBE. Archana Veera is a living example of a never-say-die spirit. Leaving behind her unsatiated dreams of being an international tennis player, she chose to do an MBA in REUI. Two years down the line, she is both satisfied and exhilarated about her future. Let’s see what she has to say.

Initially I was planning to go abroad to pursue my MBA in finance/hospitality. At that time, my father introduced me to RICS SBE.  I did my research and when I realized that I was being offered international level education at my doorstep I decided to go for it.

For my final placement, I was very certain that I would either want to work for an International Property Consultant (IPC) or a Developer. In this regard, I had interviewed for Mahindra Lifespace Developers and CBRE. I got selected for Mahindra Lifespace Developers in the sales department soon after my HR round of personal interview. I was taken aback and excited at the same time because I didn’t expect to get placed so quickly and effortlessly.

I would also like to add that the various classes, site visits and my internship experience gave me the confidence to ace the interview. The practical exposure I gained enhanced my skills two-fold.  I felt very confident during my interview because of this.

Being a girl in a male-dominated class, I was worried initially. I also felt too young as some of my classmates had prior working experience. But after spending 3 semesters here I realized that as a girl, I have the same (if not more) chances to make a career in this industry. All I needed to do was work hard and confidently. The same is true for every girl out there.

Many say it’s a male-dominated industry (which is true to some extent) but I have come across a lot of women in the industry that have inspired me. And the one thing which I found common among them was their will and determination to become something, and somehow finding a way to do so. I hope to do the same and give my best at every task I’m set to do.
