“Initially I was planning to go abroad to pursue my MBA in finance/hospitality. At that time, my father introduced me to RICS SBE.  I did my research and when I realized that I was being offered international level education at my doorstep I decided to go for it.

For my final placement, I was very certain that I would either want to work for an International Property Consultant (IPC) or a Developer. In this regard, I had interviewed for Mahindra Lifespace Developers and CBRE. I got selected for Mahindra Lifespace Developers in the sales department soon after my HR round of personal interview. I was taken aback and excited at the same time because I didn’t expect to get placed so quickly and effortlessly.
I would also like to add that the various classes, site visits and my internship experience gave me the confidence to ace the interview. The practical exposure I gained enhanced my skills two-fold.  I felt very confident during my interview because of this. Being a girl in a male-dominated class, I was worried initially. I also felt too young as some of my classmates had prior working experience. But after spending 3 semesters here I realized that as a girl, I have the same (if not more) chances to make a career in this industry. All I needed to do was work hard and confidently. The same is true for every girl out there.

Many say it’s a male-dominated industry (which is true to some extent) but I have come across a lot of women in the industry that have inspired me. And the one thing which I found common among them was their will and determination to become something, and somehow finding a way to do so. I hope to do the same and give my best at every task I’m set to do.”
