Recently, the School organized a lecture on the Management of International Construction Project – sharing experience
for the MBA batch by Hitesh Khanna - Director/Works Ircon International Ltd (CPSE of Railways)
Ircon is an engineering and construction company established in 1976 by GOI and since then diversified as Ircon International Ltd. in 1995 and expanded operations across the world.
Hitesh Khanna – an expert in international construction, enlightened the students with his international experience and the various challenges faced while delivering international projects on time.
He started the lecture by explaining how Ircon International is the leading turnkey construction company in the public sector known for its quality, commitment and consistency in terms of performance and covers the entire gamut of construction activities.
His involvement in two major projects along with the extensive work he performed during his stay in the country were the key discussions. Constructing norms in Mayalsia and other countries and how well timed the project was delivered was the modus operandi of the session.
For students, this eye-opening session was helpful as many of them do plan to take over the construction sector globally and be a part of the much awaited global projects which require such skilled professionals. Questions like “what is the importance of being culturally aware of the construction business” and “how project managers can make themselves more relevant as per international scenarios” were asked. The enthusiastic batch questioned Mr. Khanna about his overall experience, the challenges and how different it is to work in an international set up.
