We are organizing a dialogue at India Habitat Centre on Public Private Partnership for Transit Oriented Development in Indian smart cities with support from the National Institute of Urban Affairs [NIUA] and Foreign & Commonwealth Office.
With the fast paced development of smart cities, the focus on transit-oriented development (TOD) is necessary to make these cities energy efficient, better connected and less polluted. For this development, a significant portion of the investment and financial aid is expected to come through public-private partnerships. It is evident that public-private partnership is the key to Transit Oriented Development and needs to be put in spot focus, which is the motive of this dialogue.
