The MBA CPM program which is PMI & RICS accredited offers courses which are highly relevant to the industry requirements like Pre-construction planning, Cost management & control, Services engineering, Contracts management etc. helps build competency & gives confidence when working on actual projects.

I find myself at ease doing valuations for different projects, be it a hotel, corporate, residential or entertainment property. Also, being a graduate of RICS SBE, my seniors and management have higher expectations from me than other fresh hires. They are also waiting for me to become an MRICS.

After completing my civil engineering, I did not want to follow the conventional path by pursuing higher education in engineering. I wanted to gain practical experience that would provide additional skills. I think an MBA is the time to build and grow a network that will help you in the future. The knowledge that I have gained here has set a solid foundation for my career. It has been the most fruitful time of my life and the learnings will help me prosper further.

Learning by doing is the best practice in the construction industry. Site visits and case studies provide us with the understanding of the current industry status, new trends, and policies and technology, which helped me a lot during both internship and placement interviews. I thank the faculty for provided their essential guidance during the entire programme and during the placement.

It was after interning with the Sweett Group that I developed an interest in quantity surveying. I also discovered the value of an RICS accredited degree in the industry, and am excited to pursue a career in this field.

The two years at RICS SBE gave me a learning experience that I will always remember. Interacting with industry professionals and a unique curriculum with subjects that teach us about real-world scenarios have made me an all-round professional.

The curriculum is regularly updated as per industry requirements and topics like RERA, GST are discussed inside out. I have acquired the requisite skills to understand finance, market research and valuation of a project. The degree I have got is globally recognised and it opens the path for me to become an MRICS or FRICS.

Now that I’m placed in a leading construction company, my next goal is to become a Project Manager. So I'm now working hard to become an MRICS. I am sure that it'll help me get a leadership position and will also give me global recognition and credibility.

During the training program we got to study quantity surveying extensively under cost management. I think the knowledge gained from this course helped me secure the role of a quantity surveyor at Laing O'Rourke. My future plan is to get MRICS as I gain experience, which will add value to my career

I am handling all the QS and commercial aspects of two residential building projects in Dubai. It gives me a sense of pride to excel at my work. I am also working towards becoming an MRICS.

The internship experience changed my perception and understanding of how to analyze emerging competitors in the market. I gathered that interacting with colleagues, vendors, consultants, business heads, project managers could be a good way to understand market dynamics better. I got exposure to marketing and communication strategies, data sampling and analytical approaches.

I am grateful to RICS SBE to provide me an opportunity to study at the University of Salford, UK. It is one of the top universities offering construction program in UK.
I also interned with Procure Plus while studying there which gave the exposure of advanced technologies used in UK. I think all this, helped me in my placement at Knight Frank. When the placement process started I was still in UK for the student exchange program. I was interviewed on skype and soon shortlisted.
Now I am ready to make my mark in the industry. Being a girl, I do not feel inhibited and am ready to face challenges that come my way. In UK, I have seen girls as much capable as boys. This gives me the hope that this can happen in India as well. And to make this a reality, I will start with myself.

I had quit my previous job and had chosen to pursue an MBA in CPM from RICS SBE. Here I developed both managerial and soft skills; something which I had never experienced before. Now, I have got a major breakthrough in the global construction industry by getting placed in Al Naboodah.
