Avinash Kuwade, MBA CPM (2018-2020) Placed at Asian Paints I had many childhood dreams but one of my dreams was to become an engineer. As a child of a civil engineer, I have seen drawings and designs of building, roads and bridges which made me curious to ask questions about them to my dad. This curiosity also led me to watch the mega-structure on National geography. While I grew up and I had to make a career choice I choose civil engineering as my career because of my childhood curiosity related to construction.
Any advice to students considering joining RICS SBE? If you want to create a broader perspective related to construction and you need to learn any management skills, RICS SBE is the place. How did the MBA program at RICS SBE help you? The CPM program helped me to see the construction world in a different perspective, earlier I used to only think about execution and design when it comes to construction now after joining the CPM course I see there's a whole lot of managerial works behind every construction and what is to be improved in the construction industry How was life at RICS SBE? (Campus, faculty, activities, events) The campus at Mumbai is very good, the students are very open about their thoughts. Whenever we need some help from the faculty, they are accessible to us any time and they not only help us in professional matters, but they also counsel us for keeping us mentally healthy. The sling activities include seminars, events and activities which help them to grow their people's skill. These were the event I got to showcase my writings in public. What was your experience while studying at RICS SBE? The experience I got at SBE was way better than any other college if compared. I was a very shy and introvert person before and SBE has helped to open about my thoughts improved my people skills. Now, because of those skills, I not only write poems and stories I have also started performing them in public. This all helped to gain confidence for my placement activities and helped me bag a placement also. What were you doing before coming to RICS SBE? I was a civil engineering student before joining RICS SBE. Where did you get placed? I got placed at Asian Paints. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? Within next 5 years, I see myself as a Senior business development executive of an organisation where I could handle all the business development related activities and manage people as a manager which would help my organisation to add value.
